Ideal for use in both commercial and residential construction, Quad-Deck combines the strength, security, and reliability of concrete with the energy efficiency, design flexibility and comfort of insulating concrete forms.
Each of the expanded polystyrene panels are supported and reinforced with two integral steel beams molded into the product from end to end. The result is a self-supporting joist and deck forming system that provides the maximum strength of a reinforced concrete deck with a minimum of materials and labor. The Quad-Deck Advantage
Easy to Install
 The panels interlock with a user-friendly tongue-and-groove design at the base of a 5" wide cavity that forms the concrete beam, or “joist". Rebar is placed in each joist, and shoring is spaced every 6' to 8' as required by the engineering design. The thickness of the Quad-Deck material and the concrete slab poured on top of the panel determines the height of the concrete joist and the unsupported span of the deck.
- In all applications, utilities are easy to install in the pre-molded access passages, and any type of finish can be mechanically attached to the integral steel beams. The utility passages are 4.75" in diameter and allow for the placement of plumbing, electrical, telephone, and ventilation systems without having to remove any of the forming material or impair the integrity of the system.
- Drywall is attached with drywall screws directly to the 22 ga.(8mm) integral steel beams. These are an integral part of the panel with a spacing of 12" on centre. Each panel is 24" wide and can be ordered in any length desired, without extra charge.
- Quad-Deck is available in thicknesses from 7" to 13½" and capable of forming floors and decks of with overall thicknesses from 8½" to 17½".
Strength and Security
When used with concrete and masonry walls, Quad-Deck provides integrated, complete protection against fire, catastrophic winds, tornadoes and earthquakes. Used as a roof for a safe room, a closet can become a safe haven or a place to protect valuable goods during a tornado or hurricane.
Optimum Insulation
Quad-Deck provides superior insulating qualities that reduce the noise level not only from the roof and floors, but also from the exterior and interior. Depending on job requirements, Quad-Deck offers an R-Value range of R-10 to R-25. This insulating property is obtained at the factory and is not subject to the skill of the installer, thus allowing for optimal insulation. Insulation is also assured by the unique tongue and groove connection between the Quad-Deck panels.
Lightweight and Versatile
The Quad-Deck floor system is less than half the weight of other hollow core precast floor systems, reducing the load on foundations and walls. For commercial buildings, the integral steel beams and attachment point makes Quad-Deck the perfect forming material for creating insulated tilt-up concrete walls. Quad-Deck allows for versatile residential designs, including sloped and gabled roofs. Quad-Deck's versatility also allows you to build clear span basements with its ability to span up to 40' without supports.
