All Quad-Lock panels are molded of fire retardant Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) to a density of around 2lb/cu ft (equal or greater than a Type II EPS Board).
The Panels come in regular thickness (57mm, 2¼'') and "Plus" thickness (108mm, 4¼''). Using combinations of Quad-Lock Panels and Quad-Lock Plus Panels three different Insulation Values are possible, giving you the choice of R-Values of 22, 32, and 40 (h*ft²*°F/BTU).
The panels are 1219mm (48") long, 305mm (12") high and are molded with a sturdy foam interlocking design along the top of the panel, along with molded slots for every 51mm (2'') on center. The foam interlocks with the Quad-Lock Ties , ensuring every panel will align with precision and no bulging.
Slight grooves have been molded into each panel on the outside surface, every 51mm (2''). A deeper, wider groove is molded every 305mm (12") which makes for easy tie placement and location.
EPS is a foamed insulation that has a zero ozone depletion rating. EPS does not, and never did, contain CFC's or HCFC's. The Quad-Lock panel is totally inert and chemically stable and will emit no gases into homes or commercial buildings. In fact, EPS is considered to be a world class insulation with qualities that make it impervious to time and moisture.
